David J. Laplante

David J. Laplante, FAPR, RPR, CSR, CMRS, CLVS, has been court reporting since 1979. His experience includes reporting depositions, arbitrations, and court trials.

David received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Court Reporting from Johnson and Wales University, Providence, Rhode Island, graduating summa cum laude.
He has served on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Court Reporters Association as well as Chief Examiner of the Certification Committee.
David served as an Instructor of the Court Reporting Program at Johnson and Wales University during the 1990s.

In 1992, he was recognized as a Fellow by the National Court Reporters Association for his years of service. Election as a Fellow is a professional distinction that is conferred by the Board of Directors upon those individuals who possess extraordinary qualification, exemplary professional practice and serves as a credit to the profession of verbatim stenographic reporting. A candidate for Fellow must be a Registered Member who has been active in the practice of verbatim stenographic reporting for at least 10 years, and shall include 3 or more of the following:

1. Publication of important papers, articles, books, or other written material dealing with verbatim stenographic reporting or related subjects.
2. Creative contributions to the welfare of the profession of verbatim stenographic reporting.
3. Significant and distinguished service to the profession as an active participant on boards or committees of any national or affiliated state association of verbatim stenographic reporters.
4. Contributions to the profession in such areas as teaching, editing of publications, or other contributions that have served to advance the profession of verbatim stenographic reporting.

As a Certified Manager of Reporting Services (CMRS), David has successfully undergone the stringent requirements of the NCRA in leadership and management of all court reporting services.

As a Certified Legal Video Specialist (CLVS), David is extremely experienced with the nuances associated with audio-visual depositions and has provided his varied expertise to the legal community.
